Driving Question:  What do monsters symbolize in our culture? What or whom do we demonize?

Summary:

Through Class Discussions and Lecture, Students will embark on their individual journey’s through British Literature. Students will also participate in various class discussions that directly relate to the Epic story Beowulf.

2.       Students will hand write their rough drafts and place them within their binders. The guest teacher should not collect the assignment.
Paper 1: 900 Words, APA format. Printed. Due Monday October 24, 2011 at the BEGINNING of class.

NOTE EXTENSION
Tuesday
1.       Review and Reteaching day of elements of the October 30 day assessment test. We will review the test.
2.       Data Collection/Item assessment.
3.       Restorative Circle: Reflections on the October Assessment.


Wednesday
1.       Restorative Circle
2.       Students will retake the 30 Day Assessment.

Thursday
1.       Review of the themes and objectives from the epic poem ”Beowulf”
2.       Viewing of the movie Beowulf.

Friday
1. Conclusion of the movie Beowulf.
2. Restorative Circle and Class discussion of pertaining to the movie.
Homework:
.Continue working on their papers.
Advanced Topic
This week we will focus upon the history of Shakespeare, and begin watching the 21st version of “The Taming of the Shrew” Dramatic Interpretation

Advisory
This week in advisory we will discuss the upcoming ACT date, and the due dates for their college application.

Differentiated Instructions
Students who have been preliminarily identified , will be assisted by myself and support services.
